Achilles Chronicles:

Thursday 30th April 2009 

Home after surgery and everything went really well evidently. Yesterday was a balls-up from go to wo as i didn't get operated on and was sent home at 7.30pm(after arriving at 7.45am). That's a long time not to have anything to eat,thankfully they had me on a drip.

Now for 2 weeks with my leg up doing sweet F.A. Got to see the Doc next Friday so might start some gentle training after that(see what he says). If not i'll be lifting in a fortnight after i'm out of the plaster and into the boot :-)

I'm already missing training like mad................

Went and saw Dr. Gothelf today and i'm in to be cut open tomorrow morning. Two weeks in plaster on my back,then i get a boot and can start moving about(and to me that means training). I'm already formulating my regime post surgery,it'll sure to be full of chair-presses and pull-ups. :-)

The ultra sound confirmed the worst. "the results suggest a complete tear in the mid Achilles tendon". Off to the Ortho specialist tomorrow to see about surgery. Training will change but not stop,geez can't wait for the rehab.................

Felt a strange pop/snap in my calf/achilles whilst running the water for Felix's footy team this morning. Off for an ulta-sound tomorrow to find out the extent of the damage. Doctor thinks i've ruptured the Achilles Tendon,hope not.......................
